6-1 and 6-1

I am kinda geeked up for this game.  MSU needs this win. It is a bit unfortunate that the game is at 11 am central time.   Off the top of my head.  MSU needs to rush the ball well.  About 125 yards rushing would pretty much guarantee a win on Saturday.  Along with that, locking up Taylor Martinez will be crucial.  Nebraska averages, I think, 225 yards per game rushing.  That is a crap load.  Burkhead is no joke either.  MSU will be cheating towards stopping the run and force Martinez to beat them through the air.

How long has Nebraska been running the option?  Since before Crouch?

Last point for tonight before my three things tomorrow. Please, let this offensive line have another great game.

Anyone gonna watch Beavis and Butthead tonight?

  1. Home field is a huge thing in college football. It helped carry MSU last week. Nebraska is at home this week with their season on the line so MSU is going to get their best shot, should be a good game.

Martinez is awful at passing. He can bomb it up deep and sometimes that results in big plays but he's worse than Denard which is a bad buddy. Actually they are probably about the same this season. Denard has regressed :(

  3. I'd rather have Denard. Not sure I'm a very unbiased opinion in this case though. Nebraska fans would probably choose Tmart.

  4. The stats for Nebraska rushing are impressive but remember a two weeks ago...Michigan was averaging 257 yds per game and then amassed an uninspiring 82 yds against Sparty

  5. College stats versus professional stats.

In the NFL, sacks are not counted in the running game. They are passing plays, so that would seem to make sense.

The Spartans are a very good rush defense, but their numbers look spectacular because of their pass rush and ability to get to the QB.

I think MSU's pass defense is better than their rush D, due to pass rush ability.

With all that said, I think MSU matches u very well in the run game against Nebraska. Denicos Allen's speed getting sideline to sideline will be much needed against Burkhead and Tmart. I think Wisconsin's rush offense was probably a more difficult matchup than the Nebraska offense will be. I think one thing to watch in this game will be if Nebraska can scheme Allen away from the play and negate his speed. Chris Norma matched up better in the Wiscy game, he could have trouble on the edges against Martinez.
